  1. It's plastic cus ya change the entire thing as it is also the filter. So going with Aluminum is not prudent.

Even lifetime coolants loose resistance to corrosion, etc. change it every 5 years. 4 motion 4WD fluids is part of the drive connection, so it is factory spec'd to be changed at specific intervals. Brake fluid, etc. That's the advantage of manual, stick transmission, which is all i drive since 1987 Dealer even says, don't touch it, never. And it's standard gear oil. No magic property. I never ever had a manual transmission problem in dozens of VW's 316,000 fun miles on one manual stick always 150,000 plus miles, never touch gear oil in manual trans

  3. Using the scan tool to replace fluid probably exercising solenoids to get the air bubbles out and fluid fills it better. Sometimes instructions MATTER.

  4. Transmissions have oil coolers that use coolants to keep it cool. It probably doesn't need much air flow. Wanna bet BMW designers and ZF company knows what they are doing? and sidewalk experts don't?
