  90.  @mohammdselawe7723  It's pretty bad that you don't know the origins of the name Palestine. The word Palestine derives from the anciant Latin word of "Plishtim", which where a group of Greek settlers who arrived to modern day Gaza and were the arch enemies of the Judean kingdom. The word itself in Hebrew means "invaders" (פלשתים). After the Roman occupation of the Israeli kingdom in 70 CE, and later on the Bar Kochva revolts, the Romans chose to name the occupied province under the names of the arch rivals of the Jews. The reason is still debated but the most plausible explanation is that as a result of the Jewish revolts against the Roman occupation, the Roman senate wanted to punish the Jews and "erase their history on the land" by renaming it after the Jews arch enemies. In short, Palestine is the word used to describe a group of European colonizers who arrived from Greece and attacked the Jewish kingdoms. They ceased to exist once they started intermarying with local communities and after the Roman occupation, AKA another European colonizer ,the name was used as a punishment for Jewish resistance in the area. BTW, no the people did not call themselves "Palestinians". The word Palestinian only started showing up once the British empire (who also conquered the lands) started implementing Palestinians visa's in 1921. Again another way that the Palestinian identity was formed because of European colonizers. Also , I am not denying the fact that people did live on the land for centuries after the Jews. That's a fact. What I do say is that no they didn't have a united nationality and they never really tried to push for independence as they were all from different origins and backstories (for crying out loud, the Palestinian football team in the 1930's was comprised almost entirely from Jews who emigrated to the land and got a Palestinian visa).
