So if one day CCP collapses, and "TW" takes over the mainland, the country would not be called "TW", the country would be called "China".

That just means I recognised thats what NKs stance is without taking sides. You need to learn some better English comprehensions skills. Also, the current DPP doesnt want to be "China", but KMT does. Its literally KMTs core value. And KMT holds about 40-50% of the seats in the National Assembly. And to change the constitution, or change their name, they need 75% of the National Assembly votes to have that done. So at this point its not about PRC not "allowing", its the fact that there isnt even enough support within ROC to even make that change.

Pride/support is very different to wanting "independence". But yes, there is a growing number of youth that do want independence. The non-youths dont. Because they understand that a move to independence literally means that the Chinese Civil War thats been in a state of prolong ceasefire will resume. And they dont want war.

In order to be able to compete the non-China, non-ROC, and non-TW name they came up with was Chinese Taipei. This is what TW chose themselves. The name nor flag was imposed onto them.
