  1. It is really not complicated - Shri Jaishankar has laid out India's position in plain terms. What is novel though is that for the first time, an Indian government is frankly arguing that its proper constituency is the people of India. It is doing so while being guided by India's civilizational ethos of Dharma, as opposed to untrammeled expediency.

  2. With the disclaimer that it is a specialised topic etc., NAM feels like it was more of an vanity project than carefully crafted foreign policy - from what little I can read of Pandit Nehru's personality from publicly available material.
