In one essay, Shekhar ji succeeded in insulating Smt Indira Gandhi from criticism for shaking the foundations of Bharat democracy (it was a weak moment, it was the fault of the sycophants), for propping up the monster Bhindranwale (Zail Singh's fault), and turning B_wale into an Amitabh Bacchan (don't mess with him!), and letting him off on a technicality (he didn't ASK for Khalistan and breaking up India but wouldn't mind it if he were offered it). He also worked in a snarky swipe at the redoubtable Kangana (her make up looked bad). No wonder clever writing in irresponsible hands can send society to dogs (I am sure Aristotle or his ilk had something to say on this count). Other thoughts: imagine a senior American journalist figuratively wagging their finger at a Hollywood director saying - don't mess with Osama! American society would disown such a journalist for the disrespect to the memory of the thousands of American lives lost. Sadly, there is no such sensibility in Bharat, yet.
