True for about 10% of India - you may recognize yourself as one if you have any kind of a 'coffee table book' at home.

  3. It is hard to find fault with the message of the signatories, but one wonders how high in their list of intellectual priorities actual survival, as in, "I cannot breathe", kind of survival, is. If it is not in their lived experience, they may not feel the existential urgency of BLM in their bones.

  4. As someone once said, isms are odious and India should not be importing them wholesale. Isms draw a circle around themselves, where there is the 'us' folk, and everyone outside is the 'them' folk. There is such a thing as a liberal racist (https://www.nytimes.com/2018/07/28/opinion/sunday/suffrage-movement-racism-black-women.html), and when people in certain countries say feminism, they implicitly mean white feminism (https://www.thelily.com/how-many-women-of-color-have-to-cry-top-feminist-organizations-are-plagued-by-racism-20-former-staffers-say/).

  5. Harvard is hardly a liberal bastion, perhaps the opposite. But that is a minor point about a great university.
