Saying 'Congress Dynasty' without blushing in a democractic India shows how inured and accommodative journalists have become to the idea.

Six decades of Congress dynasty rule set up the corrupt institutions that India is operating under. Institutional memory is long and takes time to erase, which is why Congress will continue to get blamed for some time. It is possible that you are very young and don't have the perspective or the first-hand experience of living through the times. The Congress dynasty has a long and inglorious history of subverting and weakening the democratic institutions of India. I too am critical of the BJP, not so much for the things they have accomplished, but for the things they have not yet done. Things move slowly in a democracy but they are losing valuable time in not making India's health and education priority No. 1. Having said that, they have two major accomplishments 1) Weakening, but unfortunately not yet destroying, the institution of Gandhi rule at the center and 2) Eliminating higher-level corruption and making decisions more transparent and rule bound. In defense of the BJP though, they are somewhat a product of and are working within the inefficiencies of a corrupt system. May be the next generation will be less used to living and breathing corruption all the time.

You make a few good points and many weak points. The relativistic argument, times were corrupt but heaven compared to now, is the weakest and the most dangerous of all. Rather than quibble, I will let the government learn from your good points and improve society. I am curious though, why do you think the BJP and Shri Doval are indulging in all this blatant corruption?

'BBC isn't ideological' is an SG whopper in the same category as 'Rahul Gandhi is the pre-eminent leader of Congress party'.

@danishtiwana The Congress dynasty of Nehru->Indira/(Sanjay)->Rajiv->Sonia->Priyanka->Rahul-> and whoever is right now waiting in the wings to be sprung on the public at the right moment, is very much like the Mughal dynasty of Timur->Babur->Akbar->Shah Jahan-> Aurangazeb-> and so on. Democracies assume that you don't need to be born in a specific family to get the privilege and the opportunity to lead the people. Journalists, particularly people like SG who make much noise about freedom and democracy, should be horrified at the situation but they got used to the idea over the many decades and even thrive in it. The Congress model has so corrupted that country that you now have many little dynasties all over the country (yatha raja tatha praja). In a bass ackwards manner, so to speak, the Congress dynasty is now pointing to the system they have helped create to justify its own existence. All in all not healthy for a democracy.

Criticizing the almost empty Prasar Bharti board is valid. The situation is very concerning and should be corrected.

@normalhuman6581 :-) :-) :-) They were worth a good laugh. I wish the government put more faith in subject matter experts. It doesn't make sense to do otherwise in this technological age where common sense only gets you so far.

The BBC is a capable news agency at home and a propaganda arm abroad.
