  1. Great point of Abhishek Saini below about education. So many farmer children these days are separated from their parents at a tender age to attend private residential schools because there is simply no good schools, or even any schools, in the villages. This crisis could also be an opportunity to reform 1) 'Government schools' so that schools all over India are as good as in Delhi and 2) As part of this, give a boost to online delivery of primary education so that any decently competent teacher can make use of the structured materials to provide a high quality education to young children in the remotest village. Although States run the schools, the Center could contribute in developing the pegagogical tools and nudge them toward good habits.

  2. Hope all of the FM's announcements turn to reality. One little thing that bothered me: she said something in the passing about forest wealth. Hopefully, it didn't mean an attitude of harvesting forests or turn them into amusement parks for 'safari' goers. Forests really are the property of India's wildlife, and the few vana vasi's who live with a small ecological footprint. Forests have to be left alone as wilderness in the true sense of the word.
