  2. I think you are half right. It is undisputable that modern analytical methods have revolutionised the molecular understanding of many things. The health care philosophy of western medicine however is deeply flawed. In the long run, Ayurveda's holistic and preventive philosophy will prove superior. Ayurveda practitioners can easily update themselves with the analytical tools while their preventive philosophy of health is not something western medicine will adopt - because it doesn't let you bill for procedures. That, and the whack-a-mole approach of modern drugs. Oh, and by the way, the reasons for the downfall of Ayurveda are easy to guess from India's history.
