  1. I like the canister better. Less waste and much affordable. The regular oil filter just too expensive and wasteful because you just basically throw away a good casing. Whereas the canister you just replace the filter media only and not the entire housing unit. I've never had any issues with the stock canister filter housing unit spill if you know what you're doing. It's not all that complicated versus the spin-on filter. The canister filter media is just much better and economical. My 2013 camry still has the original plastic canister housing unit. Super easy to service and much better quality plastic versus aluminum that can easily get dent and ding and cross-thread if you over-tighten them. People that complain about the canister type filter just don't know what they're doing period. Improper tools and overtightening them is the number fastest way to destroy things period.

  2. I never had any problems with the toyota plastic canister oil filter. They're made of great quality trust me. It may be made of plastic, but the quality is well worth its weight. Way better than GM or FORD period.

  3. Some people just aren't mechanical incline and tend to overtighten those plastic way pass beyond theyre recommendation. I have a 2013 toyota camry and have never run into problems of removing and installing them back onto the car.
