  1.  @de1623  The Government heard that the High Court may deliver that verdict so had MONTHS to find a possible alternative. Remember, the majority of these individuals came in under the previous Labor Government when they did nothing to stop the boat smigglers. The Coalition came to power and DID stop the boats but inherited thousands of illegals that arrived while "Blackout Bowen" was in charge of Immigration. There wasn't sufficient holding areas so they were issued with interum visas until their status could be established and then the discovery of criminal status they went into detention until another option could be found. ALL this from an incompetent Labor Government "policy" that you would never hear them admit.
