On August 28th 1963, 59 years ago, Dr. Martin Luther King gave an amazingly inciteful speech on the steps of the Lincoln memorial, it came to be known as the I Have a Dream speech and part of it stated the following: "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the colour of their skin, but by the content of their character". Our new Australian Prime Ministers wish to reintroduce both judgement AND entitlement based on skin colour into the Australian Government is a retrograde step that will be resented by those NOT entitled to the special "Voice to Parliament" and only have a single vote to have their say. The move does not bring individuals together but is likely to cause divide in the community along racial grounds.
