  1. That convention says nothing about releasing or the terms of release of prisoners of war mind you. It's about his rights and treatment and the obligation via that convention that the state holding him as a war prisoner has. But they were under no obligation to just release him, neither was there a time limit prescribed,.....that's all implied or encouraged but not explicitly stated.
