  1. Dude, there's no shame in having a Patreon to help you pay for your project and private costs. You are delivering a product, and putting research, time and effort into it. If you use Patreon money to keep the lights on in your house, the pets fed and do the weekly shopping, that's all part of it. Don't do the spreadsheet man,...just thank the Patreon and Viewers now and again and keep delivering your quality product on YT. Good luck 👍.

  2. Ask an artist you like to do them for you ? Than You can help out a starving artist (probably on the cheap) and you've paid/commissioned for the art and get the license for it. Now you can control the historical accuracy of the images and you can licence it out to others for their projects. See, glass half full m8, good luck 👍.

If an artist finds you using their stuff without a licence from them (the author) to do so, you've just landed yourself into the wonderful world/maze/reality called copyright or intellectual property rights or portrait rights, etc. Sucks, but hey, they've got to pay the bills too on the end of the month and have put work/time into their projects,... fruits of their labour kinda deal. Hope you resolve it fast, so everybody can move on,...lesson learned innit.
