These interviews are very time limited, and many interviewees come on with their own preplanned talking points. Therefore, if you just let them control the interview, the viewers get a preplanned lecture. I do agree that interruptions can go too far sometimes, but many times it is necessary.

I like the fact that ranked choice voting can eliminate the need for run off elections. Run offs tend to be expensive for local Boards of Elections and pull out very low voter turnout, so that means that the final victor was elected by a tiny percentage of the electorate. However, run offs are a feature of local elections, not really presidential elections. In addition, Mayor Adams was the victor in NYC's first ever ranked choice balloting, and unfortunately Mayor Adams has been a bitter disappointment, truly bad. And that's considering that I voted for the guy. Hey, everyone gets fooled every now and then, but I'm just saying we might want to take a closer look at ranked choice before utilizing it in a presidential election. Unpredictable consequences can result.

Please learn from history. In 1968, three parties got us Nixon. Don't repeat bad history. Ultimately, right now, we need to get through this election safely. Let's vote carefully. Biden has a demonstrated record for passing legislation; I'm for it. Long term, however, the problem is that politics is not a draw for qualified talented individuals. We are overdue for a Brain Trust. If politics can stop being such a nasty corrupt business, and return to being about service to the people and the nation, we might once again see a plethora of quality candidates in both parties that voters could feel good about.
