  2.  @avet4521  Sorry but the Roman Republic to Roman Empire analogy does not work, because Rome was a rising power when it made that transition. The United States is a declining power at present. Especially since Trump became President.

  3.  @avet4521  True America wasn't a declining power until 7 weeks ago. And the Roman state reached it's zenith under Trajan and Hadrian. Thus it was still growing stronger from either Julius Caesar's or even Augustus's time.
