@chloroxbleach8561 Actually, they were better thought of as two dual turrets side by side - there was a thick armored bulkhead dividing the two. This saved half a turret crew aboard Dunkerque at Mers el Kebir "Dunkerque fired several salvos at Hood before being hit by four 15-inch (381 mm) shells in quick succession. @devobronc That's the reason I consider them like their 12 inch gunned counterparts, the Alaskas, to be Large Cruisers or all big gun Armore Cruisers, , not battlewagons
