In the comedy Dad's Army the home guard platoon were given a 13 pounder naval gun, on a wheeled mounting. So that's an example, and an hilarious episode as well.

5:39 lot of love for the twin 4, I'm suprised Drach didn't say they should replace the galley with a twin 4, anchor chain twin 4, superstructure twin 4, captain twin 4, Hull twin 4.

if the Lord Clive class monitors with their under 3m Draught, had been retained till ww2, do you think they could have been used in the St Nazaire raid. Their armour is too thick to be penetrated by all but the on shore 170mm guns and that's only when they are right up on a straight arc of fire. There were some railway guns, but I don't think they were set up to shoot at the estuary or have the time to hit the monitors if they could. The monitor could shoot at the lock gates themselves, however they weren't particularly successful when they did it last time in zeebrugge, so maybe used to distract fire from the Campbeltown and shoot at shore implacements before taking the men back home as a transport that won't be sunk, unlike the small boats.

@smorgisborg1 they say naval gun in the show as it relates to them finding out Frazier a naval guy was actually a cook at Jutland.

58:54 if I'm correct didn't the Japanese have the ablility towards the end of the war utilise the US IFF system to disguise themselves as seeming to be US aircraft and then attack with much higher success.

@WALTERBROADDUS read my comment they will notice they noticed Campbeltown it was still a success the difference is the Lord Clive's armour is thick enough, that only one type of gun could penertrate it, however only at one angle and these guns were unable to sink a ship with no armour that could withstand the guns and of over 4x less displacement.

@WALTERBROADDUS again read my comment, I said it could be the ship assisting Campbeltown to take the men from the shore and act as a bullet sponge being the larger target.

@rooh5825 that was a mistype kid, just think for two seconds before making a condescending comment, that just make you look foolish.

@MusicMaster1987 drach talks about it existing in the video

@kemarisite noticeably smaller Hull? The Emerald class is larger than an Atlanta, longer, wider and has a much heavier displacement.

@rooh5825 you keep doing double spaces between commas and fullstops, this is grammatically incorrect, I can be a you if you want. I have 58 likes I don't have to like my own comment, but well done at trying, you'll get there one day.
