  5.  @alan_davis  you've literally just made my point for me. Inelastic demand curve should not be privately owned. I never said only, so trains would come under it not because they can't be run privately, look at Japan or the UK pre WW2. But now post WW2, with the model chosen for privatisation and how those companies have acted it just doesn't work. The railways need rebuilding and these companies will not do it, therefore nationalisation make sense.
