  3. I grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana a city of over one million people and the big city people are just as nice and down to earth as the country people shown in this video. (New York City may be an exception.)

  6. Sure we travel. On holidays like Thanksgiving or Christmas, we may drive hundreds or thousands of miles so that the entire extended family can get together at Grandma's house. The United States is a very mobile country as we follow our jobs or careers, we move all over our country and the average home resale time is about 4 years. I personally have lived in Indianapolis, Logansport, Greenwood, Indiana; Houston, Texas, Presidio, Texas; Phoenix, Arizona; San Diego, California; West Helena, Arkansas. Then most jobs offer 2 weeks of paid vacation and people travel across several states on vacation (depending). And we can visit a family member or a state park closer to us on the weekend. I will give you the names of some parks and you can look them up on the internet: Big Bend National Park. Yellowstone National Park Grand Canyon National Park Niagra Falls Redwood National Park Here are some state parks as they would be closer to our home: Spring Mill State Park Turkey Run State Park McCormick's Creek State Park Brown County State Park Clifty Falls State Park Dunes State Park Here are some state forests: Yellowood State Forest Martin County State Forest Spencer County State Forest Pike State Forest Of course having said all of this, when you have a city of over a million people, you cannot expect them all to behave the same way. And I am sure they are some people who never leave one city there entire lives. But that is not my culture.

  7. Most of the big cities here are actually pretty laid back. Those rural calm areas you speak of actually stretch for hundreds and thousands of miles. Driving from one side of Texas to the other takes about 12 hours.

  14. That is because if you are from one place, you have one type of personality and if you come from another place you have a different type of personality. I am a mixed up mess. I am part German which makes me think like Spock on Star Trek and I am also Irish which gives me a wicked Irish temper. When I get upset, I am a danger to those around me because I have no empathy or emotions. My grandmother grew up in a town in Indiana called French Lick that was completely settled by French immigrants. She married my grandfather who grew up in West Baden which was completely settled by German immigrants. The French blood in me makes me a little bit girl crazy. But I never introduce myself as anything but American. The freedom of America is my homeland and I would feel completely lost anywhere in Europe. And you have to remember that people who live on a farm have nothing else to talk about other than family. (And all of the Irish in this country spend all their time crying about missing Ireland (like my grandmother)). It is no different from a Native American saying, "I am Cheyenne." or "I am Cherokee." You are taking it like it is a national announcement. It is not a national announcement -- it is a tribal announcement. Norwegians are mountain people and when he tells me he is Norwegian, I know that he is a rugged outdoorsman who can lift objects weighing twice his own weight and can work outdoors in any kind of weather When he says the other farmer is German, if my tractor breaks down, I know to take it to the German guy.

  17. For somebody who thinks they know something you sure are mixed up. I grew up in Indianapolis and have never in my life seen anyone treated differently. So you do not need to put on airs and claim you are better than us. You are not. ​ @dirtroadscholar

  24. The oil he was referring to is inside the microinverter for cooling purposes. But somebody has been fear-mongering him. His tractor leaks more oil in one day than that whole solar field will leak in it's lifetime.

  29. Solar panel are made of glass and aluminum with plastic-housed copper wires soldered with lead-free solder. They are not toxic and do not leach anything into the soil. I would be more concerned about driving a tractor in the field which is spraying all kinds of toxic sediment chemicals out it's exhaust pipe and leaking gasoline, diesel fuel, grease and oil into the ground daily (all of which are carcinogens).
