My whole extended family from way back are conservative. We believe that certain things work and certain things do not work, and we base our politics on that idea.
We are all Christians (protestant) and we believe that, in order to go to Heaven, one must know Jesus as their Savior and live as the Bible says. We attend church at least on Sunday morning and as often as possible on Sunday night and Wednesday night. We say grace before every meal, thanking God for His provisions. We talk with God about our day before going to sleep at night.
We believe that this is the best way to live and that everyone in the world should live this way (voluntarily). We believe that if everyone in America trusted God and lived a godly life, (voluntarily) this would be a beautiful, fantastic country.
We are against teaching the theory of evolution because it is unscientific and simply wrong. It mistakenly leads people to give up their belief in God and choose Hell. 🌅
We are against LBG because the Bible says it is a sin that sends people to Hell. 🌅
Additionally, the Bible says that God destroyed 7 cities with fire from the sky ☄️ for their illicit activities. We do not want America destroyed with fire from the sky ☄️ so we want LBG eradicated from our country (voluntarily).
We believe that God creates every human child and that killing a child is a great offense to God. And God will punish the country that allows wanton murder. So we want child-murder gone from America, so God does not punish America (done by law because, obviously, murder is illegal everywhere).
Leaving basic religious beliefs aside:
We are against big invasive government that tries to stick it's nose in your business and solve all of your problems for you.
We want the government to cut back on spending and balance the budget. We were against the Inflation Reduction Act because we cannot afford it. Same with the school loan thing. The government cannot afford just any good idea. Living on borrowed money is not fiscally responsible.
We believe that free-market economics is the best because it is the most efficient, has less waste, and makes less mistakes.
We believe that anyone entering the country must do so according to U.S. immigration law. If we need a fence or wall to implement that and enforce the law, then we need a fence or a wall.
Strong police forces who are tough on criminals and long effective jail terms.
We support oil-drilling because it makes America financially strong. Most of my family members do not believe global warming is a real thing (but I do). They think we are being hoaxed.
We believe in a strong military to keep America free, so that we can always do the things listed above.
Those are our basic fundamental beliefs and we support the political party that agrees with us.
After all of that, we support the candidate who can best implement the party platform.
