Comments by "Matthew Loutner" (@Matthew_Loutner) on "Life in rural Russia six months after sanctions | With Lars @SurvivalRussia and @russian-farmerr" video.
He is mistaken toward the end. The objective of the sanctions is not to make the russian people dissatisfied and overthrow their government. The objective of the sanctions is twofold: 1. To hamstring the russian government, so that they cannot get access to the money and resources they need to keep building weapons (for example spare parts, as covered in the video). This objective includes trying to shut down the russian economy to lower the tax rubles that the russian government has to build and buy weapons. And also cut off their dollars. Without dollars the russian government cannot buy war supplies on the world market. 2. To try to put enough economic pressure on russia that they will see the futility of the war and call it off. The idea is to make the cost of war so high that the russian government will decide the war is not worth the cost. Hang in there Russians. ๐๐๐บ๐ธ โ๏ธ

ย @DuraStopย It is not their fault they support their government. Their government brain-washes them and lies to them about what is really happening.

Your logic is completely backwards and faulty. The exact opposite is true. If your government was a really good government, there would be no reason to want it changed. ๐คทโโ๏ธ Your government just preemptively attacked and invaded a sovereign country because that country is teaching children to speak the Ukranian language. You do not see something wrong with that? Your government has rounded up and put in jail at least 20,000 Russian citizens for protesting the war out on the sidewalks. You do not see something wrong with doing that? Your government is putting Russian citizens in jail for 20 years for calling the "special operation" a war. TWENTY YEARS IN JAIL. You do not see something wrong with that? My friend, if you do not see that these are problems with your government, you are blind. Here in America, in the 1960s, the citizens held large protests out in the streets against the Vietnam "special operation." Was there any fear that our government would round up all of the protesters and make them disappear? No! The American government is the servant of its citizens. You know what the American government did about the protests? They stopped the war. Furthermore, these "unfriendly countries" that you conjure up are purely in your imagination. Every country wants to be friends with Russia. ๐คทโโ๏ธ Also . . . The United States does not have an "expansive policy" -- but China does. ๐๐๐บ๐ธ โ๏ธ

ย @ะัััะผ-ั5ั8ะทย So there is something wrong with surrounding and encircling a rabid dog? The West is not "surrounding and encircling" Russia. We are expanding democracy and prosperity. Our actions do not involve Russia and there is nothing wrong with expanding democracy to help improve people's lives. Once again, you are having paranoid delusions that someone is trying to surround you. Your whole country does that. You are compensating for some inferiority complex. And so what if we imposed sanctions? We are trying to stop a war. Your logic is like a criminal who does not see himself as having done anything wrong and blames the police for arresting him. You start a war and then blame us for sanctioning you. And our wars are not "death machines." Our wars protect the citizens of the world from out of control maniacal governments and keep the planet free from totalitarianism. We have no choice than to do that. Go read my previous comment again, I made some edits.

ย @ะัััะผ-ั5ั8ะทย The citizens of Iraq, Syria, Libya, and Afghanistan are nut cases. There will always be infighting among those people and no one can stop it. And I can show you where it says that in the Bible. With those people, we try to keep the lid on a boiling pot and that is the best we can do. Americans have no desire to be "the world's policeman." But if we do not do it, who will? And we do not "cause riots" -- so stop lying.
