  1.  @hollandanish5557  Not sure who you are referring to but the pardon they are talking about was for Daniel Perry who murdered Garrett Foster, a white 28-year-old Air Force veteran who was protesting at a Black Lives Matter rally in Austin in 2020. Garrett was engaged to a Black woman, but he was a white guy.

  2. That detail is something that the people defending Abbott and the pardon board seem to keep missing. And to be fair, Tim was quoting "some MAGA guy" from over the weekend who was trying to make that argument.

  3. One of the most obscene and telling things about the Perry pardon was that his ability to own a firearm, someone who has complex PTSD and an autism spectrum disorder, was also restored. How many times have we heard from Republicans and NRA mouthpieces that the gun violence problem is largely a mental health problem and part of the solution is that people with mental health issues should be restricted from owning firearms? Well this puts that argument to rest too. Gov Abbott has not only subverted the rule of law and set a murderer free with that pardon but also done more to help the gun control movement than he knows.
