  2.  @lovepeacebliss  The Oligarchy is made up of families that trace their lineage back to the aristocracy of the DAR and/or that intermarried with European aristocracy at some point. They have knowledge of many of the buried secrets and skeletons in the closets of various governments and it's that power of knowledge combined with ancestral assets that make them so powerful. While having a lot of money will let you build skyscrapers or rockets and disrupt industries, just having money like the nouveau riche tech, finance, and extraction industry billionaires is not enough to count one among the Oligarchy who are actually moving the levers.
