  4. This line from 1:13 is absolutely true. I see it in both myself and other people who went through traumatic childhoods when that damaged part of us gets triggered by something. And that thing Joe goes on to describe about "auditioning for things" - that's not just actors, that's the daily life of every damn near every person on the planet. Putting on masks to impress others, be they true or false, might be one of the few universal characteristics of our species (or as universal as nearly 8 billion individuals can ever be).

It's disgusting, but lots of animals are treated horribly in that part of the world. I've seen video of cats - like we have in our homes - being boiled alive for food. One was able to get out and was trying to drag it's scalded body away, but the guy grabbed it up and chucked it back in the oil or whatever it was he was cooking them in. Feeding billions of carnivorous people is a brutal thing even in the most Kosher and Halal of abattoirs. But at least that is all being eaten. What these cunts are doing is deeply fucked on a whole different level - the casual waste of life for pure greed is a trait that needs to be eliminated from our species if we want to survive the years ahead. People who do this and poach ivory and other endangered species all need to go. Feeding your family is one thing, this is not that.

Arsenic, foxglove, and snake venom are all examples of poisons being used in western health care. And while chemotherapy isn't poison it is toxic as hell, but it's being used to help fight cancer every day around the world. I doubt we'll ever find similar benefits from sugar or corn syrup, but as long as it's not all you drink and you eat a varied diet having a coke or eating a cookie isn't the end of the world for most people. All things in moderation. Besides, sugar tastes good. Life and existence are a mind-fuck that we're all just guessing at and none of us are getting out of alive. If a tasty beverage every now and then makes your day a little better and you aren't going to hurt anyone else by consuming it I say fuck it, drink up, brothers and sisters! There are too damn many of us on the planet anyhow. I for one am not looking forward to Soylent Green Tuesdays.

When it came time to cook it, It was stuffed with sauerkraut and a few other vegetables, cooked long and slow, and came out tasting like dark meat from a turkey. So good! He was coming from a point of trying to prove his agenda that not only is there no medical use for marijuana but that using it will do more harm than good. No substance should be used by everyone, but marijuana is one of the least dangerous substances to use in it's natural form - concentrating it may cause more problems for more people as the dosage of THC increases, but that's true of most things. Just don't be stupid. I'll go with my personal experience and the thousands of years of use of this plant as part of our natural pharmacopoeia.

But knowledge is useful so let me share a wee bit of mine. there are three types of pistols classed by how they hold bullets and how many bullets fire per trigger pull. pistol with a round cylinder that stores the bullets which fire one per trigger pull - revolver. pistol with a clip (magazine) that holds the bullets which fire one per trigger pull - semiautomatic pistol with a clip (magazine) that holds the bullets which fire multiple times per trigger pull - automatic (or full auto) I believe that both the semiautomatic and fully automatic firearms are classified as automatics due to the automatic ejection of the spent casing and loading of another round into the firing chamber. Also, fully automatic firearms of any kind (pistol, assault rifle, machine gun, etc.) are highly regulated and not commonly owned. It's part of the reason the bump-stock is popular, especially among those who probably shouldn't be allowed access to any firearms at all. Probably ought to keep sharp objects away from them in general too, but good luck with that.

In the past few decades before podcasts were a thing we can look to interviewers like Bill Moyers, Charlie Rose, Terry Gross, and Phil Donahue as well known examples who get to take the time to really dig into a conversation with someone and bring an audience along for the ride.

People who live in extreme or pure ways may provide interesting results and examples, but the vast majority of people are also stuck with whatever food supplies their resources will provide. We have to be both willing and able to funnel our limited resources away from the uselessly fun so we can include healthier options into our diets. The Conservative Right had already assumed the mantle of America's moral authority against the Liberal menace they stereotyped as godless, sex-crazed, drug-addled pussies (the pinko commie part didn't really work anymore since the USSR had collapsed - also part of the reason the Right turned so much harder against the Left - they needed a new enemy) and the Liberals didn't do much to change their opinions. Now after the almost thirty years of this slow escalation of hostility, which is now actively being reciprocated by some on the Left as well, why should we expect any less than the escalation of violence that we're seeing. And a gun is a damn good tool to kill someone with. Hell, it's why it's made. But even if you were somehow able to take away all the guns, people will still be able to build bombs and chemical devices that can incapacitate allowing someone with nothing more than a knife to do horrible things to a good sized group of people. The Tokyo Subway attack by the Aum Shinrikyo is an example of what I'm talking about. That was in 1995. You can stop the sales of high capacity magazines, put the old Brady Law gun-ban back in place, do community buybacks, and other things to chip away at the problem, and it would help but it won't stop this. As a gun owner I'm comfortable with people having to go through a background check. I'd think it would be valuable for most all gun owners, especially new ones, to take a gun safety or a full concealed-carry permit class and get to spend some time training with a professional on a live range, but none of that is going to stop this problem. We all have to stop being such assholes to each other to make that happen. And from a lot of the comments I see - and some that I've made - that isn't happening anytime soon. But I'm trying, Ringo - I'm trying real hard.

There is going to be enough of property that is privately owned that the eminent domain lawsuits will drag on in the courts for years. It would be perfect if I could regrow an organic body sampled from the local biome of the planet I'm visiting that I could transfer a copy of my consciousness back into and go live for a while or for a lifetime there before re-uploading those new memories and moving on to the next place. I could go on for an awfully long time like that. Maybe even circle back around the Milky Way galaxy to Earth in a few million years and see how the old place is doing. I wouldn't recommend it for everyone and neither is he, but there are plenty of people and cultures that survive or even thrive on a restricted or near-mono diet.
