Police are not there to help us. Police are and have always been the enforcers of the ruling class. They keep the king's law and help the sheriff collect the king's taxes and slice off a bit for themselves when they can get away with it - just don't make the peasants squeal too much. Don't want to bother the master now. It's good to be the king but it aint bad work to be the king's dog either.
