@darthkek1953 I've learned it was multiple mad emperors/warlords fighting each other for turf, resources, dominance, and more taxes/tithes. That's why it never survived against invaders like the Mongols, and later the Japanese and Europeans.

From a USA perspective I can't see why having more hi-speed trains is something to brag about. With good airline coverage, highways, and local rail transport there is really no need for hi-speed trains. Maybe a train can go 350km/hr, but if it makes stops along the way that reduces its overall travel time quite a bit.

As for chemicals used as ingredients for a lot of pharmaceuticals, China is just the cheapest supplier right now. Other sources are available. I'm not sure how insulin is made so I'll not include that one.

No need to do that. China has three big aircraft carriers, but they are all petrol-powered (limited range). And China has been pissing off its neighbors over illogical turf wars (South China Sea and border incursions in the Himalyas) so they don't have any good allies in eastern Asia. The best they can hope for among those neighbors is indifference.

@julianf9235 Not afraid, but NATO was formed by its member countries to protect one another. The country afraid of NATO is Russia, who invaded Ukraine after their 'puppet president' in Ukraine was defeated and the new leadership under Zelensky made overtures about joining the European Union and NATO. Russia couldn't stand having a NATO country on its border (although it's invasion created five) rather than a puppet (like Belarus) to use as a 'killing field' in the event of war with Europe. The NATO countries aren't actively participating in the war but supplying Ukraine with the weapons and supplies it needs to defend itself.

@MD97531 That's why China keeps pissing off its neighbors with belligerence and bullying tactics? Don't expect any of those neighbors to be anything more than indifferent to China's suffering if a war breaks out.
