I can't tell if this might be the beginning of a validation of the BRICS group's plan to separate from the USA dollar as the intermediary in international exchange, or if it validates that BRICS is pretty much a joke. My money (in USA dollars and British pounds) is on the latter of those two outcomes occurring.

  2. I'd think you are being too generous with the Renminbi/Yuan (whatever its called these days). Its value is so opaque due to Bejing's controls I wouldn't think it to be in any money manager's "top 10" worldwide currencies. Maybe its there just due to the size of the Chinese economy? I'd include the Swiss Franc and Singapore's dollar before the Chinese currency.
