  1. I thought Obrador's main motivation was to get revenge on the leaders of the PRI that passed him over as a presidential candidate in the last few Mexican election cycles. Take away local power and money and let those local "caudillos" deal with the cartels and corruption in their areas (which just lead to more corruption).
