Love the China bots promoting the concept the USA ignores South America. I guess they can't see over the Andes or through the Central American jungles to see there is (and always has been) quite a bit of trade activity between the two areas, especially from the eastern & northern sides of the continent. Good luck with that major trade highway or rail line over the Andes Mountains between Peru and Brazil, my guess is it isn't going to work out.

Look at China's finances these days. You'd be foolish to invest your capital in that country until the whole financial system gets straightened out and becomes more transparent.

You should do some research on China's national finances. That'll break the country before the population declines enough to cause proplems. Don't trust statistics out of China, find other independent firms that do international financial analysis and what they think of investing in China.

I guess you didn't bother to research the amount of trade going on between South America/Central America and the United States, and between those countries and others outside the Western Hemisphere. Best solution to an economic problem is to get the economy active, not just throw temporary aid at it.

Except its been taken over many times (remember the Mongols running it for a few hundred years from about 1200-1400?) and the 'warlord' rulers of the provinces that kept attacking each other to gain influence and land, then losing it, then retaking it, and over and over. Its never been a stable 'one government' area until recent times.

Where have you been the last 50-60-100 years, stuck behind the Great Firewall of China? The USA and USA-based companies have been all over the world building projects in other countries that are applicable to those country's needs and financial capabilities, and involving the local populations in their development and maintenance for long-term success. China has only recently started doing it and builds what isn't really needed, just what China thinks they can stick the local population with.

Different theories on how to run a country. In the USA the government is subservient to the people; make a few rules and let the people develop on their own, make their own decisions, and the country grows. In China the people are subservient to the government (the CCP) who determines the direction the country will go and the people follow along. Choose your path and choose it wisely.

@celdur4635 Wrong. USA-based companies indepenently went to those countries and set up businesses, not the USA. You're projecting China's/the CCP's methods of CCP-backed business operations on to the USA.

China doesn't raise dictators, it wants to be the dictator. Chinese just unilaterally take over the South Asia Sea, disregarding all borders established in previous agreements, attack Philippine Naval vessels in the Philippines' own waters and islands, tells Malaysia and Vietnam to get away from Islands they have rightfully occupied for decades in their coastal waters. Meanwhile China builds a never-ending string of warships that are for nothing other than taking over other lands.
