  1. I live in heavily Mexican influenced Southern California and I've never heard the acronym AMLO used when he's being referenced, just Obrador or Lopez Obrador. Full name for those interested is Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador. From what I know of his presidency in dealing with the cartels he just gave up on trying to root them out as long as they didn't get violent with the general Mexican population. That been a colossal failure, especially in the central-western states and the towns/cities bordering the USA.
