  1. no ships are still more efficient. there is no limit to the size of a ship out site of the fact that it needs a harbour to get in and enough cargo to be so big.

  2.  @newsgetsold  even if Seuze is not a option and they have to go around the cape it is still cheaper do to the bulk. 1 train can carry about 120 containers in one go before it becomes to heavy. 1 ship can carry up to 10.000 containers in one go and even grow bigger the water has no max to carry.

  3.  @ArthursHD  that would require enormous amount of development cost because you would need to build a entire new line across the world (all has to be one gauche) you would need multiple lines every where. you would ether have to go true or over mountains and valleys. across desserts. and you still can't way more with you then the weakest point in the line could carry. but those massive ships are already there. they already are more or less full automated. they don't need to cross anything but water. and if they need to more even more they can just build them even bigger and they will just do that.
