  1. I've noticed that so many times. A car submerged almost to the roof in water but the windshield wipers are still working. I would think the water would short out the battery and/or electrical system before then. Perhaps we have found the one prodeuct that China can make that actually works: car windshield wipers!

  2. Never heard of these so I looked them up. What a cool concept! The upper floors could be apartments, the ground floor could be shops and craftsmen and then on weekends in the big courtyard they could have Pay-per-view gladitorial games...or soccer for the less adventurous.

  3. What you say makes a lot of sense. Since dams have to do what dams have to do and weather is not predictable, the only solution would be to quit building cities in floodplains. It would seem that when a major flood wipes out a city that they would rebuild the city on higher ground. But they don't. They build the city right back where it was, I guess believing "well, that will never happen again".

  4. So much of this is because modern China does not seem to understand drainage, but yet the Chinese who built the forbidden city kept it from flooding for 600 years. Modern day Chinese are just a poor simulacra of their ancestors.

  5. Well, I suspect that China has done more toward destroying the environment than any other country in history, even outdoing the Soviet Union. Perhaps nature is trying to wash them off the planet. Or God is cleansing the Earth of them like Noah's flood.

  6. Unfortunately they will rebuild everything exactly where it was and using the same crappy construction methods so this will happen again.
