Brendan Clarke-Smith has described food banks as a "political weapon", saying it is "simply not true" that "people can't afford to buy food on a regular basis" and "If you keep saying to people that you're going to give stuff away, then you're going to have an increase I'm afraid." @El.Cid17 I will assume from your comments on this thread, that if you for what ever reason could not work again, you have enough money to live the rest of your life without any help whatsoever. As the largest slice of the benefit pie is state pension I will also assume you wouldn't want that either. Be very careful what you wish for, you might have to face it head on one day.
