He told her "say I a, very giving you protection" She came back and said "he only beat me more", so the Prophet SAW took off his turban and gave it as a sign of protection He only beat her more,so the Prophet SAW said "oh God, you deal with this man, I have already tried"

  3. That "beating" is but a symbolic gesture of beating - with a toothbrush twig,or with a handkerchief. NO MORE Also this is very disliked in Islam. It's allowed in only the absolutely most extreme cases of discipline,and even then it's still disliked - but it's still better than the breaking of a marriage,which is why it's allowed under very strict conditions
