Comments by "coriolisky" (@coriolisky) on "Why Foreign Women Struggle Dating In Japan" video.
Holy shit, Takeshi, this video of yours really has brought out the racists and the incels. Thoughtful interviews as always, but the more popular your videos get, the more common these comments are.

@d6421-e9c Stop presenting offensive stereotypes as fact 🙃

This is so nice to hear. That racist guy (Jonah) up in one of the other threads suggested that Indian women have no chance of dating in Japan or perceived worth, which is super racist.

Yes, this is true, and something I noticed while in Japan. Women there are much more interested in English and other foreign countries, whereas Japanese men are more inwards looking. 住んでみてから愛国心が強いという結論に至りました。
4
It depends; like any country, people differ in their beliefs. Some people would love to date a foreign girl, and other dudes are completely turned off by the differences. Just like in the U.S., for example.

@Jonah Whale Also, I think your POV on this matter is more racist than the average Japanese person's perspective. There is definitely a hierarchical pecking order based on perceived socioeconomic rank, but I think it's more likely that you have some extreme biases if you think this is even remotely true. The reality is that most Japanese dudes are deeply conservative -- much more so than the women -- and are not interested in any non-Japanese woman for a serious relationship. However, for the men who do marry outside of that group, Asian women (nearly all of whom come from poorer countries) are the most common pick. Not white Americans or Europeans. It's sad that you think your opinions have any factual basis.
3
Hmm? There's about an equal proportion of women who are beautiful/average/not in Japan as in every country. They just market themselves very well.
3
@hastamanana8696 I'm comparing Japanese women to Japanese men, not to other countries. And I believe that Japanese women are more open to international concepts than men, based on the statistics out there and my own personal experience.

@d6421-e9c idk why that comment linked to you; it should have been @Indrid Cold
3
Uh, what? Reporting you for casual racism.

Great point.

@guana2885 Also, the initial commenter on this thread says she /doesn't/ have blonde hair. She does say she is lighter skinned, but lighter skin with an Indian background does not necessarily translate to a Eurocentric appearance on its own. What the commenter is saying is that she feels her appearance is closer to Japanese norms, rather than Western ones.
2
@hastamanana8696 Errr, compared to Japanese men, they are more open. This is borne out by statistics.
2
@markg2877 Yeah, it's amazing how much confidence he has when his actual knowledge is 0.
2
@Jonah Whale Now we're just getting into your ego. Tons of people have told you why your original comment was flat-out wrong, and you're trying to backpedal. I reiterate what I said before: pathetic.
2
@Jonah Whale My points are very clear -- the issue is that your enormous ego can't see past them to type a halfway decent response. It's unlikely you've been in Japan or India for any considerable amount of time. That you have no real knowledge beyond anecdotes is borne out in every comment you've made here.

いっぱいいる。都会に行けばたくさん見かけるよ。

No ethnicity is guaranteed to be attractive or more likely to be good looking, and that includes Eurasians.

The Indian girl has been in Japan for only two months lmao

@guana2885 It's a really complex question! Undoubtedly, white supremacy exists. Its influence permeates Japan, and it is especially destructive due to their own history with isolation and imperialist aggression. But warning bells go off in my head when white people (and especially white dudes) immediately rush to tell everyone that non-white people have no perceived value in a foreign country. It often says more about their own biases and a desire to prop up their own worth relative to that group, and in Japan's case, carve out a space for themselves as superior. It's a very destructive pattern that I've noticed.

You're nuts

Wealth has nothing to do with being high-caste, actually. Most middle class Indian women tend to have similar mannerisms to her. Also, while you may not intend this, your comment about her "speaking English beautifully" is incredibly patronizing -- it may be her native language, and she might be more proficient than you.
1
@hastamanana8696 I strongly disagree with you. However, you are entitled to your opinions.

@hastamanana8696 Foreigners are not a monolith.

Definitely.

@hastamanana8696 Statistics about international traveling, purchasing luxury imported goods, taking foreign language classes, etc.

lmao what an incel

@Jonah Whale There is a tendency for light skin to correlate with higher castes, but that is not necessarily the case. There are plenty of higher caste people that are darker skinned (esp in South India), and lower caste people that are lighter skinned. This is a very common misconception that people with no understanding of India have. Also, there are plenty of Indians with her skin tone -- she isn't super light at all. It's kind of mind-boggling how little people grasp.

@suvikrams I know, right? I wasn't born or raised in India, and I can tell this guy is talking out of his ass.

@subPlayer第二主人 そうですよね?このスレッドを立った人は日本男性と日本女性の好みを区別つけないだけ。
1
@Jonah Whale Dude, not everyone replying to you in the comment section is Indian. You're being an asshat, and using every rhetorical tactic (hey there, strawman arguments) to deflect from that. Casteism != colorism. Haven't you ever learned that correlation doesn't equal causation? Even if the other people in the thread were Indian, it wouldn't invalidate their thoughts. Also, I see how you jumped from "Indian -> Hindu" there.
1
@Jonah Whale Yup, a white dude telling everyone else he understands more than them about their own countries. No real surprises here.

@travellerk1956 ムンバイの辺りだと…あと、ゴアにもたくさんいる。後者なら大勢のキリスト教の方もいるので、それも理由の一つかもしれない。
