+jayops Yes totally right! I'm glad someone else can see this! I hate it when people are criticizing Socialism when in fact they are criticizing Communism (hense the hammer and sickle flag)! In Britain after the second world war in 1945 there was a socialist revolution which brought the welfare state to the poor, the NHS, workers rights, nationalization which ment the infrastructure was owned by the people which in turn, means greater economy for the country and many other great benefits. We are now living in a Capitalist society and have now lost half of our rights we gained! I also hate the fact that they now add in a social element in socialism which blames socialism for Political Correctness, SJWs and all of the other liberal brainwashing properganda techniques! Socialism, Capitalism and Communism are economic plans to run a country. Nothing to do with the cultural and/or social aspect of a society. Maybe the word social in the word Socialism has confused uneducated people.

Piemelon Trump No I think that's Communism you are talking about. A social nationalised industry's profit goes back into the industry and improves it, plus it is owned by the public. A Capitialist private industry's profit goes to the company owner(s) and high up business men. The government or the public don't see that money. The only money they SHOULD get is through tax. Which most big companies don't pay by using tax loopholes and the tax in question is far less profit than a nationalised industry. Socialism is like using the power of the sun, in that it's never ending. (profit goes back into the system) Capitalism is like using a limited supply of fossil fuels. (profit is slowly taken away from the system and given to owners and directors. The higher the profit, the higher their bonuses are) and when the fuel runs out... economic recession. Like the one we had in 2008.

Piemelon Trump That was a quick reply! Well of course people will have to follow the rules of Socialism, if they don't then it's not Socialism. As you say, it depends on the people to do their job properly and to be honest. But to say everything has to be perfect is an exaggeration. It worked in Britain from 1945 to around 1970 untill Margaret Thatcher destroyed the country through privitisation, deregulation and through the destruction of production (manufacturing) and she was a Capitalist. You may call this crony Capitalism, but that is the only Capitalism i've seen. The rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer, Socialism was used to balance the wealth in a fairer way. You say that it all depends on the people in power to be honourable and that is exactly right. But that's the same with what you said about Capitalism and crony Capitalism. You can't blame an ideology for the corruption of humans. But the core rules of Socialism is a fairer system than the core rules of Capitalism.
