  1. the Americans weren't allowing Canadians to land their planes. So the Canadians went away. The Turks weren't allowed to land either....but the Turks landed anyways, and took 300 of their citizens off. umm.....it's the BRITISH and the French who are going and getting their citizens, not the AMERICANS. Canadian embassy ppl rarely do anything....they're kind of notorious for that. We've always been told that in a crisis, head for the British embassy...as a Commonwealth person, they'll help Canadians.
