Zelensky is the guy who was elected in a suspect election, then put his opponents in prison and shut down all opposition newspapers. Donetsk is 95% Russian....Zelensky is literally fighting over a line in the sand (his eastern border) in spite of the wishes of the population. .....i don't think Ukrainians want to die. Nor do Russians. BUT Zelensky will NOT go to the peace table....he's making money and doesn't seem to mind Ukrainians dying

@darlene2709 when East Germany fell, the Americans promised Russia that that was as far as NATO would go. Since then other countries surrounding Russia have joined. No wonder the Russians don't trust us and want to take land to keep the nukes away. It's the USA that's pushing it....what if China set up nukes on the Mexican border ? What do you think the USA would do?

@darlene2709 Ukrainians are actually Russians who happen to live in the west.....that's what Ukraine means....."Western border" Because it was made a separate country in 1991 is important, but it's not the be all and end all.....look what the West did to Africa! They separated it into countries that fit the British French German will to have borders, with no regard for tribal lands and they've all been fighting ever since. Same with the Ukraine....95% of the population in the Donetsk is Russian, and probably should be with Russia if they can't be independent. Zelensky is fighting over a line in the sand (the eastern border, so Russian Donetsk can be in the Ukraine....they must have something financially worthwhile there) and many Russians and Ukrainians are now dying for it. What the UN says is not written in stone..... Kosovo was part of Serbia for centuries, but after a large number of Albanians moved in.....a LOT less than 95% of the population, though! ...the UN gave Kosovo to Albania. Just depends on who is the hero of the day.....according to the West. cheers

@danielabelgrade but Mexico isn't 95% American. And actually, canada is more worried about the UsA than Mexico. The US is running out of water, and Canada has lots. Cheers!

@danielabelgrade ps when the wall fell between East and West Germany, the Americans promised that that was as far as NATO would go. Since then they've accepted many countries closer to Russia than Germany. The concern is that Americans force countries that join NATO to put nukes along their borders nearest to Russia. I can see the Russians concern
