  1. it was like the elders who were lost in a nursing home in Quebec. The firefighters wouldn't enter the building on fire....they "rescued" the elders from the surrounding buildings which were fine. It was the police who went into the burning building and got all but 24 ppl out.

  2. that was the problem that they had with AIDS....no one would shut dowm the bath houses in San Fra because it was "stigmatizing" , and the virus went wild...

  3. there was a large house with an inground pool sold a few yrs ago....stand alone garage, not much land. $750,000. There was a large house on sale next to us, for a million $$....it was on the market for 2 yrs before it sold.. in the fall of 2019. It could be a commercial building, had 3 stories like the other one, a backyard and a commercial parking lot (10-12 cars).and a stand alone garage. Six mos later covid hit, and all the businesses were labelled non essential. The guy held on for 2 yrs and then put it back on the market...it sold in less than 10 days. Around the corner and down the street there's a 3 storey stone house....a fair bit of land, a tiny house in the back, and no garage...on the other side of its privacy fence is the parking lot to our late night Shopper's. I figured i'd win the lottery and wildly outbid everyone else by offering $2million, cash up front. The other day i decided to look at the listing....$2,995,000. WOWSA!! ps the govt is looking at the wrong ppl....if you can almost afford a house, you can rent an apt. The ppl in REAL trouble are ppl who are disabled, seniors and the working poor.....you cannot afford an apt on what pensions are paying now, not anywhere in ONtario or BC and several other provinces. Trudeau should worry about THOSE ppl.

  4. the local officers went in quickly and got shot....they were then ordered to wait for heavily armed backup. The Border Patrol got there first....from 50 MILES away. The Israeli Air Force can scramble and get their planes in the air in 3 MINUTES. ..... someone needs to light a match under the SWAT tieam in the area. ONe commentator pointed out that if the police had had military weapons (a practice now banned ) the locals could have gone in right away.
