@gen_z_hippichikk The request for National Guard was made by Ex Capitol police chief Steven Sund. The Pentagon, Pelosi, and Mayor Bowser denied the request because of the "optics" of having National Guard troops on Capitol grounds. This all came out during Steven Sund's testimony to Congress.

@gen_z_hippichikk Then you didn't watch or read Steven Sund's testimony. In his testimony he stated that he requested National Guard troops. There was also memos and email to back up his testimony.

@gen_z_hippichikk I never said Steven Sund was a Sargent of Arms. However, your comment doesn't refute that Steven Sund requested National Guard troops and was denied.

@gen_z_hippichikk Emails between Mayor Bowser and Nancy Pelosi said they didn't like the "optics" of having the National Guard at the Capitol because of prior incidents during the summer riots of 2020.
