  3. "The lights are so bright" - do you have a 'filter' or diffusor on them? Depending on the lights (heat), you may be able to tape a piece of white or soft yellow paper over them. The camera still gets the light it needs, but it is diffused and softened just enough to not blind you ...as much anyway. Another 'trick' is to face/reflect the lights off the ceiling using it as a diffusor. The lights aren't directed into your eyes but you get most of it thru'out the room. You'll have to point them in different directions to get light onto your face. Or have a soft light on your face to keep the shadows off, but the 'bright' light is deflected off the walls or ceiling.
