No, people know the system is rigged, what people are confused about is why people like Leslie McRae Dowless aren't talked about more and why it's suddenly taking so much time to root this stuff out and prosecute for it. It's kind of a condition that didn't really exist until Donald Trump became POTUS

See, normally election rigging and corruption and laziness was normally sorted out pretty quickly and was easy to catch in the process at one point in time before the Unprecedented One came to power. Now, everyone in law enforcement gets to play Whack a Mole every election season endlessly until actual, tangible consequences start to exist for this kind of stuff again. Leslie McRae Dowless died in assisted living at home and would have spent the rest of his days enjoying his social security benefits had he not defrauded Social Security and been charged with that as well as election fraud.
