What prices will come down with a no-deal Brexit? (other than sterling). Gove didn't say. Funny that.

There was no question asked about leaving the single market, just the EU.

@Nickle314 Farage praised Norway as an example, and Norway is in the single market. The ballot paper simply referred to leaving the EU, so what Farage said made sense. Now he claims the ballot backed no deal - which just isn't true.

@Nickle314 Indeed, no deal has never been voted on.

@Nickle314 There hasn't been a referendum on no deal. It was rejected by the Commons.

@hickorywind7859 Farage podcasts won't ask pesky questions about his £650k and Chelsea mansion from Aaron Banks. Or Rees-Mogg's investment fund in Dublin.

@latest3dsgames More than half of the food consumed in the UK is imported and 30% of the total (ie not of imports) is imported from the EU27. The government has said they'll put tarrifs on these. At present they come in without tarrifs as the UK is part of the EU.

@michaelrch House prices are already falling. Anyone who sold their house for £200,000 three years ago and used the money to buy Euros would now be £35,000 better off. Same goes for pensions paid in sterling - they're worth less. UK imports over half its food and 30% of total consumed is from the EU27.

Farmers in the EU are protected by the CAP, which will cease to apply in the UK after 1 November. More than half of the food consumed in the UK is imported and 30% of the total (ie not of imports) is imported from, guess where .... yep, the EU27. These are the facts.

@vincentmckenna281 When you import 30% of all your food from the EU27 you are worse off. None of the EU27 is dependent on the income from exports to the UK to the same extent. Everyone is weakened of course, but none as much as the UK. And of course it won't be the multimillionaire Brexiteers like Johnson, Farage and Rees-Mogg who pay the price!!
1
@vincentmckenna281 Only 7% of total French exports go to the UK. They can increase supplies to neighbouring EU countries. 35% of British lamb is exported, with over 60% going to the EU27.
1
Hard to increase production when so many of the agricultural workers have gone home to the Baltic or Eastern Europe.

@vincentmckenna281 Leaving the EU ends freedom of movement. And there is no agreement as to what follows.

@vincentmckenna281 If there's a no deal, a consultant from Greece working in the NHS will have to go home and them apply for a work permit?
