@infinitysalinity7981 No scientists have said phosphene proves there is life. They have said that it's there, they've ruled out some of the other mechanisms which could produce it and one known source for it on earth is life so it's worth investigating. Neil Degrasse Tyson has said it's an exciting hint that there may be life and that there's enough data to make it worth further investigation

@infinitysalinity7981 They haven't ruled out life as a mechanism for producing the gas because there is no way to do so. They've ruled out other methods because they know the chemistry of the atmosphere could not produce enough. I mean they haven't ruled out a giant crystal meth lab (which also produces phosphene) because, how would you rule it out? We know it's incredibly unlikely though. At 3:10 in the video, that is not a scientist saying that it is definitely life and could not be anything else. After the mistake announcing life found on Mars, no scientist would be stupid enough to say there's life on another planet without absolute, indisputable evidence because they're setting themselves up for extreme ridicule and the end of their career. I've looked and cannot find any first hand claim from Kaku that there's irrefutable proof that aliens are contacting us. He certainly said he believes they are trying but not that they definitely are.
