  1.  @JamesSmith-qs4hx  CO2 was at 3000 PPM millions of years ago and at that time the earth had a very, very different climate and much of the life on earth was very different to the life on earth now. Much of the planet then was rainforest. Many animals evolved to life in the current climate didn't exist then. These changes need to happen over millions of years to allow evolution to keep up.
