I grew up in a town where a lot of people were on anti-depressants: the only difference it seemed to make is they became psychotic or turned into "zombies". My local pharmacy was the wealthiest in the country, 'though - and I'm not even joking about that.

@the_gilded_age_phoenix8717 Believe it or not it was a town in Ireland. In fact the pharmaceutical industry in that country is so strong (and has been for a long time) that St John's Wort supplements were banned there. St John's Wort, a common plant that has been used as a traditional safe and effective natural anti-depressant for centuries . At least big pharma's reputation has been permanently destroyed, now, I guess that's one consolation.
