I think France 24 allowed those interviews to be broadcast because EU governments are beginning to realise that if they don't do something to end all this by winter the massive price hikes, inflation and unheated homes could lead to an EU-wide revolt in their own countries that even those weasels may not survive, so they are slowly, by increments, disengaging and throwing Ukraine under the bus whilst also not wanting to give the impression that the EU has been "defeated by a dictator". That's my take, anyway, and they are getting their puppets in the media to start changing the narrative now.
