  1. Peter's point about msm "journalists" beginning to change their tune is right: what good is it to speak up now that the restrictions are being lifted? None of them spoke up when it mattered and tbh nearly all of them were rabidly endorsing this madness anyway, regardless of what they claim now.

Everyone knows politicians lie - yet the nation chose to believe them on this. Time to start suing the government and individual politicians and scientists.

The leadership of the met is rotten and useless: remember Craig Mackay, the police chief who hid cowering in his car with two senior colleagues as a young policeman was being murdered nearby by a terrorist.

  27. Nice one. I dumped all my gillette products for the same reason. In fact I've found the old, traditional brands of shaving creams and razors are far superior anyway - I use Taylor Of Old Bond Street, Geo F Trumper and Truefitt & Hill - some of their scents are phenomenal.

  28. The BBC has been beyond reform for a very long time. I remember many years ago being involved in a campaign to get justice for a young disabled victim of abuse named Hollie Greig. A BBC "journalist" was one of the attack dogs that smeared her and her mother as liars. Then the jlmmy s@viiie story broke (although unrelated to her case) and the bbc's mask fell.

Widdecombe also mentioned the suffragettes - in fact the suffragettes were involved in the 'white feather' campaign which shamed thousands of young men into enlisting during WW1 and being slaughtered in no man's land.

They were a smart lot, those Victorians. Until the police arrived the public relied on 'watchmen' - these were hand picked members of the public who were noted for their bravery and integrity. Maybe that's where a future model may lie.

Widdecombe also mentioned the suffragettes - in fact the suffragettes were complicit in the 'white feather' campaign that sent thousands of young men to their slaughter during WW1. It's a shameful part of history that seems to have been swept under the carpet - even Ann Widdecombe doesn't seem to know about it (?). I'm very surprised at her naivety here.

When I first moved to London to work I remember being outraged listening to a (law abiding and respectful) co-worker telling me how much she hates the police: over a decade later I understand what she meant. They are an utterly useless force and they treat everyone as a criminal. Cowardly, corrupt leadership and their performance during the lockdown has left me with very little respect for them. I agree with Peter and the older lady. The two younger ones have no idea what they are talking about.
