It just amazes me to think that while these politicians are talking tough about going the distance from their air conditioned offices in Europe and America - !5 years, if necessary hundreds of young men are being slaughtered on each and every one of their whims. The only time I ever felt this sickened was when I thought about Douglas Haig with his flared pants shouting through his perfectly groomed moustache at young men in the trenches to sacrifice themselves en masse on the fields of Flanders in WW1.
